Applicants have a minimum of one year full-time childcare experience - most of them have more
Caregivers directly from the Philippines also have 6 months of caregiver training
Most affordable in-home childcare
Usually longterm employment (at least 1-2 years)
Applicants can be interviewed by telephone or Skype
Processing of paperwork can take from 3-5 months for most provinces

LIVE-IN LOCAL NANNY, CHILDCARE OR CAREGIVER

Applicants have childcare experience within Canada
Much higher monthly costs
Long term employment is less likely
Candidates have higher expectations of employer (personal use of a car, private accommodations etc. )
Shorter placement time
Applicants can be interviewed personally
Local placements are generally not available in rural areas

Perfect for families who require in-home care but do not have space for a live-in caregiver
